Winter Shoes Every Girl Needs

I love these shoes for winter styling. They could all be worn casually with jeans. Hunter boots are fun to get in game day colors to wear to your sporting events. The bean boots are comfortable and make any look polished. The Burberry boots give a fun pattern when you're sporting a neutral look. All three of the suede boots could be causally worn or dressed up a little with some fun accessories. The Fyre boots are well worth the money, they are genuine leather and could last forever. The two heels could be worn with a fun going out outfit or to an elegant lunch with the gals. It's fun to pair these shoes with any look.

Start 2016 in Style

These six planners are the cutest I've seen for 2016. They are classic, stylish and not overstated. They are all very durable and made from good material. If you are in the market for a well made planner any of these are great options.

Winter Accessories I'm Lovin'

These accessories have been very popular this winter. The sunglasses are a definite staple and are only going to be seen a lot more this summer. Both watches are timeless and for the money are something that could be worn forever. The chunky earrings are a big trend both in high fashion and day to day. I love my Kendra Scott Elisa necklace I wear it everyday with anything. Simple rings are the hot trend now, they are the perfect way to dress up your new manicure. The triangle hair clip is different and a cool unique accent. I love these mittens they are so cute and the perfect winter staple. This bracelet is simple and can be worn with any occasion. The sleek gold earrings are the new black. The chunky monogram letter necklace should be the new staple for a preppy girl.

Bon Appétit

Ladies get ready to bring out your inner fancy pants!

Dinner parties are the perfect way to express your creativity. There is nothing better than enjoying the company of close friends, in an intimate setting, and of course filling up on delicious food.

When planning the perfect dinner party it’s all about pleasing the five senses. Make the setting visually appealing by planning out the table setting color scheme and setting out some simple decorations. For example, a clear cylinder vase filled with those shells you picked up on your last vacation is the perfect centerpiece. Candles are also a great way to appeal to not only the eyes but give off a relaxing smell. Pick out a scent that creates a simple aroma, you don't want to overpower the smell of the food you're serving up. Subtle music playing in the background sets the mood for the entire evening. Please the sense of touch by creating comfortable seating and perhaps a pass from the table to a more comfortable location after dinner.

Of course the food is a big part of the night. It is important to choose a meal that excites you! For this dinner party, I wanted to try to match the Crispy Chicken Costoletta from Cheesecake Factory. I used the following recipe for Crispy Chicken Costoletta with Gouda Smashed Potatoes and it turned out exactly like it tastes in the restaurant! I paired the entree with warm sourdough bread, a nice summer salad (baby spinach, strawberries, raspberries, toasted almonds and raspberry vinaigrette) and Blackberry Acai Sorbet paired with a sugar cookie. Relax! I know what you're thinking… but trust me it’s not ask hard as it looks. It is good to have a balance of homemade and store bought food. As long as you pre prep it is easy to create wonderful meal.

Outfit: Dress- New York & Company
           Apron- Crate & Barrel

The most important component of a dinner party is having wonderful company to share the meal with. Hopefully this inspired your creative side and you are pulling out your planner to schedule your first of many dinner parties!

(This is from this past summer. I recently made this for dinner for my family and once again it was a hit! Don't worry this isn't just a summer meal, it is a wonderful choice around the calendar.)

LOVE IT Item of the Week!

This week my LOVE IT Item of the Week is L.L. Bean Boots!
These boots go with everything! They are the perfect shoe for styling a winter look. Personally, I like the brown because pretty much everything in my wardrobe is navy and I didn't want to clash. I have worn mine almost everyday this week. It's no question that these are the perfect shoes to get to class in, especially on cold snowy/rainy days. I am aware that these are on backorder but, I have a solution for you! It's called eBay! If you can't wait until the boots will be ready eBay is a great alternative to get new or nearly new Bean Boots. Also, if you live near a Bean Boot Outlet it is possible that you can find these coveted winter boots.

10 Beauty Products to Review

I am IN LOVE with this primer! The seemingly invisible formula has a built in color that eliminates any visible redness. It feels light on my skin and still covers all my pores. Only a small amount of product is needed for the look of perfect skin.
This palette is A CLASSIC. The colors are all very usable and practical. I love how blend-able the colors are. I have had this palette for over a year and still have plenty of product!
The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is the BEST EYE PRIMER I'VE USED. It covers everything and makes my eyeshadow extremely pigmented.
I've never used another makeup setting spray before. I was happy with the results, it helps my makeup stay all day long. It also makes everything blend together and look VERY NATURAL.
This concealer is GREAT FOR BLEMISH COVERUP. It is not however good for under eye concealing. It is not the right color tone for an under eye concealer. It is nothing compared to the Maybelline concealer I haven't been able to put down. However I am pleased with the coverage it offers elsewhere.
I originally picked up this lip color because I thought it would be like the Ultra Matte Colourpop lip colors. It turns out it's nothing like them! At first I thought they were a bust but it turns out I love them! I have one of the matte colors and to lacquer colors. All three of them are very wearable and LASTS ALL DAY LONG.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner, Brown • Rimmel •
This product is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It makes me look wide awake and it lasts all day because its waterproof. It is the perfect way to make your eyes look big and bright.
I have gone through so many face washes, and this is the best one I have used yet! It UNCLOGS EVERY PORE and makes my skin baby soft.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade - Auburn • Anastasia Beverly Hills •
I have never used a product to fill in eyebrows. When I first used this pomade it was intimidating. After I realized that you only need a little bit of the formula and got use to using it, I am obsessed! It does a great job at shaping my brows. I love this product and I am DEFINITELY JUMPING ON THE BANDWAGON.
I SWEAR BY THIS PRODUCT. If I were only allowed to pick one mascara to use for the rest of my life this would be my choice. It works for all occasions, it is the classic mascara every girl should own.

D.I.Y. So Tack-y

D.I.Y. Fabric Cork Board
My mom and I found an old cork board over the summer when looking through old storage. I thought it would be fun to dress it up with some patterned fabric to tie in with my dorm color scheme (navy and white).

1. What you need.
  • navy and white striped fabric
  • fabric scissors
  • white thumb tacks
  • cork board
  • pom pom ribbon
2. Applying the fabric.
  • cut the fabric to fit the area of the board with an additional inch border
  • stretch fabric and pin into place
    • pin approximately every three inches (or as needed)
  • fold over diagonally so each corner can have a snug fit

 3. Adding the Ribbon.
  • pin one end of the ribbon on the back of the board
  • stretch across making and inch border
  • secure ribbon on the other end on the back of the board
  • pin five times across the long end and four across the short end to ensure a tight seal

4. Enjoy!
  • perfect for placing over your desk
  • accessorize with pictures
  • write yourself reminders

I hope this inspires you all to get crafty.
